Rights principle
ARES does not claim ownership of football facts, player identities, club identities, league identities, trademarks, photographs, badges, or other third-party material merely because they appear in a database or interface. ARES grants no reuse right beyond the rights it actually owns or is authorized to provide.
1. Content categories
Football facts and source records
Fixtures, scores, appearances, minutes, events, transfers, contracts, injuries, identities, and other factual records may come from open sources, licensed providers, official publications, user-authorized submissions, or ARES research. Each governed record should preserve source, date, freshness, confidence, and correction metadata where available.
ARES modeled intelligence
ARES formulas, component definitions, normalization methods, confidence logic, score explanations, interface design, and original analysis are ARES materials unless otherwise stated. The underlying football facts may remain subject to separate source rights.
Media assets and marks
Player photographs, club badges, league marks, flags, and other media may be ARES-owned, generated, public-domain, openly licensed, provider-authorized, or third-party material used under another lawful basis. Rights and attribution are asset-specific.
2. Data-source governance
ARES aims to store or publish source name, provider identifier, source URL where appropriate, source object key, checksum or ETag, ingestion time, source update time, last verification time, data mode, confidence, rights status, and correction status. Some historical or open-source records have thinner provenance; those records should display lower confidence or limited-coverage treatment rather than implied certainty.
The public Data Sources page describes current coverage. A source listing does not imply endorsement, partnership, or ownership.
3. Image and badge policy
ARES may publicly display an image only when its media record supports public use. Approved categories can include:
- ARES-owned original or generated assets.
- Provider-supplied images whose terms permit public display.
- Specific Wikimedia Commons files or other openly licensed works with required attribution.
- Uploaded assets supplied with permission or a documented lawful basis.
- Fallback initials or ARES-generated identity marks when no approved image is available.
ARES does not authorize scraping or copying restricted images from search engines, Transfermarkt, ESPN, club websites, Getty, Reuters, AP, random social media, or similar sources without a documented right to use the specific asset.
4. Names and trademarks
Player names, club names, competition names, federation names, badges, and marks may be protected by their respective owners. Their appearance is for identification and football analysis and does not imply sponsorship, endorsement, official status, or affiliation unless expressly stated.
5. ARES Score and Market Score
ARES Score and Market Score are original analytical outputs created from governed inputs and formulas. ARES Score estimates on-field performance. Market Score estimates football-asset strength. Market Score is not a transfer fee, official valuation, accounting value, asking price, sale price, wage recommendation, or guaranteed market outcome.
Published scores should retain formula version, confidence, cohort or normalization context, source date, and enough lineage to rebuild the result. Missing data should reduce confidence rather than be silently treated as zero.
6. Reuse and exports
Public browsing does not grant permission to bulk copy, scrape, mirror, resell, train a competing database from, or remove attribution from ARES content. Authorized exports, widgets, feeds, institutional reports, or partner access may carry separate terms, limits, provenance, watermarks, and rights restrictions.
RSS feeds may be used for personal feed reading and ordinary linking. Republishing full ARES articles, complete datasets, or premium intelligence requires written authorization unless applicable law clearly permits otherwise.
7. Corrections, takedowns, and disputes
Submit a request when you believe ARES has:
- Mapped the wrong player, club, league, or fixture identity.
- Published inaccurate or stale factual information.
- Used an image without the necessary right or attribution.
- Displayed protected personal information that should be removed or limited.
- Misstated a source, license, or ownership claim.
- Infringed copyright, trademark, publicity, database, or other rights.
Use the legal request channel and select the closest category. Include the exact page, asset, record, ownership basis, requested action, and supporting evidence. ARES may temporarily restrict an asset while investigating and may retain a correction or dispute log.
8. Football-data disclaimer
Football records can differ across providers because of event definitions, match corrections, abandoned fixtures, competition formats, identity aliases, timing, and coverage. ARES does not guarantee that every source is complete or error-free. Confidence, freshness, source, and data-mode labels are part of the record and must not be removed when interpreting or exporting an ARES signal.
